Transport and its Specifics
The module focuses on two topics from the technical basis of logistics. Firstly, the nodal and line subsystem of the logistics (transport) infrastructure and secondly, the means of transport of the individual transport sectors. In both these topics, the characteristics applicable to road, rail, waterborne and air transport are mentioned. In the case of the hub subsystem, also the link to multimodal and/or intermodal transport systems.
Basics of Logistics
The module is focused on basic orientation in logistics. A long journey and a short history show that proper logistics setup provides advantages to entities. In today’s commercially oriented era, it is primarily a competitive advantage that can be achieved through correctly set processes that logistics serves, manages, and monitors. At its core, the module deals with nomenclature, division of activities, and competencies of individual entities and their responsibilities within systems where these processes have their place. The functionality of processes is described, but very often, the practical aspect of the industry, where the processes take place, is reflected here. This is the reason for orientation in the overall system and the ability to describe processes, link them functionally, and transparently. Last but not least, it is necessary to set up effective control systems that will follow up on the subsequent module “Logistics Development Trends.”

The module focuses on developing your own insights from everyday and professional life. New trends, and above all market demands and evolving technological possibilities are a significant driving force in all fields and in personal life. Even new developments have their foundations, and the module “Development Trends in Logistics” is oriented in this direction. The fundamentals of logistics are a given and development opportunities are necessary. The dynamics of the field are currently based primarily on the latest technologies, which are changing with the times and needs. The dynamic force today is the customer, the competition and the basic need to succeed here and now. Needs, requirements, suggestions and solutions is the content of the module where logistics will take place in the future, with precision and with proper prediction of success.
