Risk Management and its Types

Syllabus

The area of risk management focuses mainly on the analysis and possibilities of risk reduction using various methods and techniques for risk prevention, while these techniques eliminate already existing risk-increasing factors or reveal future ones. Part of the risk management process is the decision-making process, which is based on a previously performed risk analysis. After considering all the intervening factors, the offered preventive and regulatory measures are analyzed and compared. Then are selected the ones that minimize the existing risk. In this module, we will focus on the general and sectoral definition of risk types. Special emphasis is then placed on corporate risks and ways of managing them.

Crisis Situations, Identification and Responsibility

Syllabus

The module focuses on the issue of crisis management, especially in terms of prevention. A significant problem in corporate governance is the late identification of risk situations. The crisis event then seems sudden. For effective crisis prevention, it is necessary to identify potential crisis outbreaks from which a crisis may arise, determine the appropriate causes, or identify the relationships between the various factors that cause crises. A variety of techniques can be used for this. Furthermore, it is essential to assign the responsibility of specific persons for the processing of a set of measures, their application and updating.

Creating a Crisis Plan

Syllabus

The extent of the company’s crisis management can be specified according to the degree of crisis damage to the company. The content of crisis management before a crisis should be preventive protection against the crisis, based on risk analysis. The crisis can be predicted with the help of bankruptcy models, which assess the probability of a company being threatened with bankruptcy. It is also possible to assess the vitality of the company, whether it is possible to expect stabilization and growth of the company in the coming years. The goal of crisis management in the event of a crisis is not only to eliminate the consequences of the crisis, but primarily to verify the causes of the crisis and treat them so as to prevent the further development of the consequences of the crisis and the recurrence of the crisis.
